How this works
Phrases in context, drilled until they stick — plus a grammar lesson you have to finish before its cards are let out. About an hour on a day you do a full lesson — and a lesson is fine to split.
Una giornata
A day, in order
-
Today30 sec
What’s due, what’s unlocked, your streak. Nothing to decide — it’s already decided.
-
Review~10 min
English in, Italian out — aloud or in your head. Three buttons, and no score to agonise over.
-
Grammar~45 min
One lesson: the explanation, then drills that make you produce it. Finishing is what unlocks that chapter’s cards — and Save & exit keeps your place if you do it over two sittings.
-
Speaking~5 min
A short set for the chapter, marked sound by sound. It has its own tab, and also opens from inside a lesson or from Today when a set is waiting — so you can skip it on a day you can’t talk.
Da sapere
Six things that aren’t obvious
- Unlocking
- A chapter’s cards stay locked until you’ve finished that chapter’s lesson, so the deck can never run ahead of what you’ve been taught. A chapter with no lesson of its own isn’t gated at all.
- The stylus
- Every answer box is a real text field with room to write, so the S Pen converts your handwriting straight into it. Compose and dictation steps give you several lines.
- Landscape
- Hold the tablet wide and the chapter notes sit open beside the drill instead of covering it. On a narrow screen they slide up as a sheet instead.
- Speaking
- Pronunciation is scored per sound, not per word — you get told which syllable let the phrase down, which is the part you can actually fix.
- Your level
- The A1 → B1 estimate is deliberately cautious: it follows real exam practice, takes your weakest skill as the verdict, and stays provisional until it has enough evidence. Speaking to a person is not something an app can mark, so it doesn’t pretend to.
- Undo
- Mis-tapped a grade? Undo puts the card back exactly as it was — and takes back the practice tick and the streak day it created, so the numbers stay honest.
Il mazzo
What’s loaded right now
Every card carries a recorded Italian voice, a line telling you when you’d actually say it, and a note about the one thing English speakers get wrong.

Type the Italian before revealing. It only shows whether you matched — you still grade yourself.
Speaking practice
Adds a spoken set to each lesson you have finished, and a card on Today. Turning it off hides both — the sets stay where they are.
Score how you said a card after revealing it. It never changes the grade.
A take passes at 70% pronunciation. Word by word, 80% and up is clear, 60–79% is understandable, and below 60% is heard as a different word.

About
Forces a fresh copy of the app. You should never need this — it is here because a stale copy is invisible from the inside, and there was no way to break out of one without clearing site data.
